Fender PT-10 Chromatic Pedal Tuner Reviews 5

Bought at 30th Street Guitars in Manhattan for $49.99. I had dropped and broken two $20 Guitar Research plastic tuners and decided it was time for a better tuner.

Rugged and substantial. Very easy to read. It is capable of reading and showing every note, rather than being restricted to flat or standard tuning displays. Most pleasingly, this tuner responds very quickly and cleanly, with very little "wavering" between notes when reading your signal.

No built-in microphone option -- you can't use it for an acoustic instrument. The PT-10 is heavy and large, so it's not as portable as most tuners and won't fit in your guitar case comfortably. Some players may prefer tuners that offer you string-by-string displays so they don't have to do as much thinking.

The plastic on/off pedal feels a little flimsier compared to the cast-metal chassis. However, I've been using this pedal tuner for three years and haven't had it misbehave once.

This is my favourite tuner. If it weren't so large, and if it were able to tune unplugged acoustic instruments, I'd use it exclusively.
